THE GULET A traditional Turkish Gulet is a hand-crafted wooden boat originally built for fishermen and sponge divers. Constructed mainly in the shipyards of Bodrum, Bozburun and Marmaris, a Gulet takes more than a year to built.Gulets are motor-cruisers, but they are equipped with full rigging and sails that can be used when the weather and itinerary permit. Many of these broad-beamed, wide-decked boats have been transformed into floating hotels, designed to blend tradition with practicality and to provide those who stay on board with an enjoyable and relaxed “Blue Voyage” experience where guests are expected to do nothing except enjoy themselves on land or in the sea.
